light in the rafters was originally made as a site specific work in response to the exhibit Reframed, by Tiko Kerr in 2019. Subsequently, we re-envisioned this work for stage with commission support from the 2021 Chutzpah! Festival.

This 25 minute solo work is currently ready for presentation and we are seeking opportunities for both stage and site-specific performances. The paintings and collaboration with Tiko are an integral part of not only our visual design, but the overall vision of the piece, and we are excited about what possibilities each new performance space will bring to this work.

Commissioned by Tiko Kerr and The Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art, in collaboration with the exhibit Reframed by Tiko Kerr, with support from Canada Council for the Arts and the British Columbia Arts Council.
