Premiere 2025

In 2024, we embark upon an ambitious project developed with Chutzpah Festival as part of their Artist in Residence programs. This will be a double bill featuring a new work by Alexis and Sylvain, as well as a commissioned work from internationally acclaimed choreographer, Fernando Hernando Magadan. It will feature an exciting lineup of established, mid-career and emerging dancers from our local community.

At this critical moment in human history, we find ourselves at cross-roads in the environmental crisis. As artists and storytellers, we have a unique responsibility to use our practice to increase awareness and reflection and, importantly, to help us all imagine a better way forward. How do we approach all these challenges? How can we, as artists, contribute to inspiring hope and even change for a better and healthier future?  Through the strength and universality inherent in the dancing body, along with the choreographers’ different perspectives, these works will explore the frail line between feeling safe and endangered, the concept of vulnerability, the resilience to nurture hope, and the notion of time as climate events confront us with our own innate ephemeral nature.

En 2024, nous nous lançons dans un projet ambitieux développé avec Chutzpah Festival dans le cadre de leurs programmes Artistes en Residence. Il s'agira d'un programme double mettant en vedette une nouvelle œuvre d'Alexis et Sylvain, ainsi qu'une œuvre commandée au chorégraphe de renommée internationale Fernando Hernando Magadan. Il mettra en vedette une programmation passionnante de danseurs établis, en milieu de carrière et émergents de notre communauté locale.

À ce moment critique de l’histoire de l’humanité, nous nous trouvons à la croisée des chemins dans la crise environnementale. En tant qu’artistes et conteurs, nous avons la responsabilité unique d’utiliser notre pratique pour accroître la sensibilisation et la réflexion et, surtout, pour nous aider tous à imaginer une meilleure voie à suivre. Comment aborder tous ces défis ? Comment pouvons-nous, en tant qu’artistes, contribuer à inspirer l’espoir et même à changer pour un avenir meilleur et plus sain ? À travers la force et l'universalité inhérentes au corps dansant, ainsi que les différents points de vue des chorégraphes, ces œuvres exploreront la frontière fragile entre le sentiment de sécurité et de danger, le concept de vulnérabilité, la résilience pour nourrir l'espoir et la notion de temps lorsque les événements climatiques nous confrontent à notre propre nature éphémère.
